Alter and Spiewak in the NY Times Style Section

Great NYC boutique Alter and it's owner Roy Caires gives an appreciated shout out to Spiewak in Thursday's style section of the NY Times.  Go check out his new Graham Ave. shop or his Greenpoint shop and pick up a new jacket while you're there.

Also, do you spy the Harding Jacket on the rack behind Mr. Caires?  Not too shabby.

‘‘WE like to sell people things they wear day in
and day out,” says Roy Caires (above, left),
who owns Alter, in Brooklyn, with Tommy Cole. The
store, with men’s and women’s staples, has expanded
from its Greenpoint base to a Williamsburg shop with
an intentionally raw look, including trompe l’oeil plastering
(above). Spiewak coats, made by a local business
started in 1904, are under $275. Shades of Grey’s
plaid-lined suit jackets are $205; pants, $105. 407 Graham
Street; (718) 609-0203. alterbrooklyn.com.
